"So, during wintertime, during summertime, during spring and autumn, I would play around in nature. I would look at stuff. And mainly, I would go to the ocean, the sea, and I find that very intriguing and very interesting. Just looking over the sea and looking at the skyline and also the horizon line."
Bornholm, a small island in the middle of the Baltic Sea, has been a constant source of inspiration for Danish artist Anne Nowak. Surrounded by the ever-changing hues of the sea and an infinite horizon line, she has been captivated by nature’s perpetual transformation since childhood.
The Hazy collection is characterized by soft transitions, where colors hover between the concrete and the abstract—a reflection of natural light and its ever-changing nature. The artworks create a harmonious atmosphere that serves as both a decorative element and a functional solution in interior design.
Nowak's artistic approach is marked by both playfulness and deep reflection. Her works are often sensory and tactile, created to evoke a sense of calm and reflection in the viewer. This is especially true for her Hazy collection, where light and shadows create a dreamy expression that continuously changes depending on the light’s influence.
In collaboration with Arturel, Anne Nowak has merged her artistic vision with the company’s focus on acoustics, design, and sustainability. Her Hazy collection exemplifies how aesthetics and functionality blend seamlessly.
For Anne Nowak, nature is not just a source of inspiration but a lifeline. When she is not in her studio, she finds peace in the forest, collecting stones, listening to the wind, and reflecting on her artistic process.
"I always return to nature—it is my starting point, my source of inspiration. Whether I am working with painting, textiles, or installations, it is the rhythm and materials of nature that shape my expression."
